LOS ANGELES, April 1, 2026
LOS ANGELES, April 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Seena Magowitz Foundation has launched Seena's Care Kitchen, the first weekly cooking show to provide specific nutrition, recipes and cooking tips created especially for pancreatic cancer patients, survivors and caregivers – but perfect for anyone who wants to eat healthier.
Care Kitchen was created by award-winning Hollywood film, TV and commercial producer Lisa Rudin and Roger Magowitz, and is directed and produced by Top Chef director Ariel Boles, Lisa Rudin and Daniel Shepard. Both Lisa and Daniel have relatives who passed away from pancreatic cancer.
The show is hosted by Chef Gia Fazio from Hillstone Restaurant Group in California, with support from Michele Stack, a clinical registered dietitian at Froedtert Cancer Center in Milwaukee, and Christine Wells, a three-year pancreatic cancer survivor and food blogger. The YouTube series starts Tuesday, March 31, with weekly episodes on The Seena's Care Kitchen YouTube Channel and on www.carekitchen.org.
The Care Kitchen series will feature cooking demonstrations and spotlight simple, nutrient-dense recipes designed to help patients strengthen immunity, manage side effects and maintain a healthy weight during and after treatment. There will be many easy-to-follow recipes from soups and salads to healthy meat and vegetarian entrees, smoothies and dessert options.
"Cancer patients in treatment often lose their appetites, so food has to be both tasty and nutritionally dense to support recovery," said Chef Fazio. "Food brings joy and has a huge impact on how you feel. We are here to help people find their way back to feeling good."
Patients with pancreatic cancer can often develop Type 3c diabetes after a Whipple procedure, a complex surgical procedure used to remove pancreatic tumors. This brings another level of nutritional complications that require careful food choices and planning. Care Kitchen takes the work out of planning with dietitian-approved, delicious recipes.
